Oh boy did I love my short time with ICE!
Before I talk about what is good with ICE, let me quickly tell you why I am no longer with ICE.
When I heard President Trump call for retired Border Patrol Agents and ICE Officers to return to duty, I immediately applied. I applied knowing that I was going to take a position in federal immigration law enforcement that was going to be three levels below the rank I was at when I retired in 2021. I did it anyway. I applied to become an Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Deportation Officer knowing that once the people inside the agency but outside of law enforcement discovered that I have a successful podcast, Substack, books, and documentaries, well, my days were numbered from the beginning. I applied anyway.
I applied to go back into the war, yes, it is a war, knowing all of that and I still did it because my country needed me and I am great at that job. I rarely, if ever, pat myself on the back or self-promote but I am not just good at arresting people, I am great. I am not just a good leader of men; I am a great leader. I honestly don’t care how that sounds because it’s the truth.
I began this journey on December 8, 2025, and it just ended on May 1, 2026. I didn’t have approval for “Outside Employment” for my socials, books, documentaries, and other issues, so I was terminated. Truth be told, I don’t blame the government. I don’t like it, but I understand. However, I have/had no control on my “Outside Employment” because in the social media world of podcasting, Substack, etc. payments are ongoing. Posts, articles and videos are shared across the internet and the world as if they were recorded seconds ago. I had Officers asking me to sign my books. I had Officers exclaim in groups, “I saw you on Redacted with Clayton Morrisyesterday! It wasn’t “yesterday” but everyone thought it was “yesterday” as the interview was about the need of mass deportations and how it was failing. It’s hard to convince people, all people, that that was before becoming an ICE/ERO Officer. I was in a Catch-22 but I made everyday count.
I don’t have any regrets except that I wish I could still be out in the field with my team making more than the over 300 arrests of murderers, rapists and every other criminal in between. I don’t regret pausing and slowing down my media business. I don’t regret turning down big interviews with big podcasters and national cable news shows. Why? Because I was doing God’s work!
I believe that in the depths of my soul.
More than the arrests that ERO Officers effect daily or the intense violence they/we were and are subjected to on a daily basis, I want to focus on the Officers. I want to focus on who they truly are. Not the fabricated lie and false narrative spread by the media and the Democrats. The false narrative that ICE/ERO Officers are untrained and unprofessional is a blatant lie.
Dear God what a lie!
It’s beyond just a lie, it’s slander!
I want my readers to fully understand that ICE/ERO Officers go through a rigorous academy and that is just the start. We have continuous law and physical training throughout our career. We attend four annual firearms qualification training. We attend four annual Defensive Tactics training to include classroom education on changing law and the legal way to enforce our immigration laws. We have ongoing training throughout the year on law, enforcement postures, and tactics. This happened throughout my entire 24-year career in the United States Border Patrol, and it mirrored the incredible training I received in ICE.
I worked with the most patriotic, professional, productive law enforcement officers while I was on the Fugitive Operations Team. It is an understatement to call them excellent! They were and are the best. Everything the media and the Democrats have claimed is a slanderous lie. If they had the compacity for shame, they all would have crawled into a corner and hide from their collective shame and ignorance.
In the middle of extreme violence and danger, I worked with a group of men that should be held in the highest honor, the highest regard because they keep us safe from third world savages with IQs below the level of retardation. Savages that are rapists, pedophiles, murderers, drunk drivers, and abusers of our social benefits.
The men I worked with are American heroes!
My time with ICE was short but I have memories that will last me a lifetime shared with American patriots that I admire and cherish their friendship.
It’s amazing how close men can become when their friendship is forged under intense stress and threat of injury and death.
I already miss it…
