EXECUTIVE BRIEF: What Has happened to the Catholic Church and to President Trump?
The world feels upside down again, brothers and sisters. On one hand, the Catholic Church is seeing a real surge in new converts this Easter season, with dioceses across America reporting record numbers of people entering the faith. Some places are up 50 percent or more, and that points to a hunger for truth and stability in chaotic times. Yet the Church still wrestles with deep problems, priest shortages, parish closures in certain areas, lingering effects of past scandals, and tensions over leadership under the new Pope Leo XIV. At the same time, President Trump faces endless attacks while pushing hard on national security. He just ordered a naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz after talks with Iran collapsed, and he has been blunt in calling out what he sees as weak or liberal stances even from Church figures. Trump posted an image some took the wrong way, and he clapped back by saying it was meant to show him as a doctor helping people. None of this makes much sense on the surface, but underneath it all we see a spiritual battle playing out. Good is drawing people toward Christ while evil keeps stirring confusion and division. As conservative Christians, we know the answer is not in man-made institutions alone but in standing firm on the unchanging Word of God.

When converts are flooding in and leaders are clashing, your steady Christian example can point people to the real hope in Jesus Christ.

I never shied away from this question, but it has always been a difficult question to answer, until now. I never felt comfortable with the answer of “civil war” because I never truly believed what will manifest will be a civil war in terms of how we understand civil war. America has changed, and we must face that truth squarely if we are to restore what God intended for this land, a beacon of liberty rooted in faith, not a chaotic free-for-all that puts citizens last. We stand at a crossroads where vigilance and moral courage will decide whether our children inherit the country we love or something unrecognizable.
