EXECUTIVE BRIEF: Is America Better After the 19th Amendment? The 19th Amendment landed in 1920 and handed the ballot to women. Look around a century later and ask the hard question. Has the republic grown stronger, or has the family been hollowed out while the state swelled? Scripture lays clear order on the household, with the husband as head and the wife as helper. That order built stable homes and restrained government. Expanded suffrage tracked with the rise of the welfare state, no-fault divorce, and policies that reward single motherhood over marriage. Voting patterns split hard by sex on spending, immigration, and crime. Men and women are not interchangeable. Pretending otherwise cost us cohesion. America traded paternal duty for emotional politics, and the bill keeps coming due in broken homes and bloated budgets.

PRACTICAL TIPS: Stop outsourcing family decisions to the ballot box. Sit down this week with your wife and walk through the household budget, the kids’ schooling, and who carries the final call on big moves. Teach sons to lead and daughters to discern character over slogans. Read one chapter of Ephesians or Proverbs aloud together and note what it actually says about roles. Cut one news feed that pushes grievance and replace it with a local church men’s group or a practical skill night. Order starts at the table, not in Washington.
